Have a weekly and monthly calendar.

The first thing to do is to have your very own planner. Before school starts, stop by the dollar store and you’ll see that they sell these for only a DOLLAR. They’re exactly the same ones you see at Walmart or other similar stores.  Why spend a lot of money on an organizer if you’re just going to write all over it?  Don’t waste time on trying to get a perfect calendar.

Separate dates and times depending on how much you can do.

I hate studying 6 hours straight in one day. Although I can study for 3 hours with breaks.  Also, start early.  I do this every semester because I don’t know how long it takes for me to get or keep up with lectures.

Follow your plan!

As easy as it sounds, this is actually one of the hardest things to accomplish.  I myself can plan alright, but sometimes I over plan which them hard to accomplish, losing my enthusiasm and motivation. Here’s a tip, never plan on the same day. Always plan for future days.  That way, all you need to do is focus on your day ahead instead of planning and executing at the same time.

Use the Pomodoro technique!

Everyone has probably heard of this already. The thing is, if you really want to save time, you need to know when or where to put most of your energy, and you need to know how to control them. There are plenty of tools you can use for this trick. The first one is to stay focused.  This is another hard task to accomplish. Sometimes we just can’t help but procrastinate! I will talk about procrastination on a different article. Anyways, there are a lot of apps you can use for this!

Sidenote:

I actually use a bookmark timer I bought on Amazon. I use it for countdowns and count ups since it has this awesome feature. I know they’re for kids, but I know a lot of people who use them! Check it out:

Do the hardest thing in the morning.

Waking up in the morning is when we have the most energy. Use this as an advantage by tackling the hardest thing first.  Don’t spend too much time on it, though. If it takes you a longer time to do that hard project, you need to think of a different tactic on how to make it easy. The easiest way to accomplish this is by breaking it down.

Don’t dread waking up because you need to do the hardest thing first! Listen to your favorite song!

Having the motivation to wake up is also a very hard task. You need to start thinking about what your motivation is going to be! One thing that works is playing a song when you first wake up. This will get you excited to singing in the morning! Also, you can try taking a shower. That always helps in waking up, doesn’t it?

These tips are not limited to how you are managing your time as a student. There are plenty of other ways you will find that helps for you that are not listed above.
